Psalm 150
Praise the LORD!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD!
“It is fitting that the Psalter ends with a climactic call to praise God (v. 6). The Psalms take us through the full range of human experiences, but they center upon the glory of the Lord. They recount the history of “God’s people from creation through the second coming of Christ, yet in a way that constantly reminds us that all God does in Christ He does to the praise of His glory (Eph. 1:6,12,14). This is God’s ultimate purpose for His creation. Have you embraced God’s glory and praise as your ultimate purpose in life? If not, then your first act of worship must be to repent of your self-centeredness and idols, turn back to the living God, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save you from your sins. If by grace God’s glory has become your great aim, then devote yourself with all your might to living for His praise.” -The Reformation Heritage Study Bible
