Psalm 118:1,6-9,14,24,29
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
The LORD is on my side as my helper;
I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in man.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in princes.
The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
This is the day that the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!
“One of our greatest comforts is knowing that the Lord is on our side and taking part with them that help us. There is no reason to fear anyone or anything because, with the Lord at our side, we shall be kept both strong and safe. Paul summed it well: “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31). How can a person know that God is on his side? How can that knowledge give him hope and boldness? God’s faithful love will last forever for those in union with Jesus Christ. How can you incorporate these practices and heart attitudes into your life?”
