Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come (His death) to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
“Jesus will know His people to the utmost end of their unloveliness. Their sinfulness cannot travel so far but what His love will travel beyond it. Their unbelief even shall not be extended to so great a length but what his faithfulness shall still be wider and broader than their unfaithfulness. You are loved by Christ throughout eternity. Whenever you doubt His love, look at the cross. All His attributes were put on public display. God is glorified when we are made aware of who He is. On the cross, you see God’s love in action. You see His grace in action. You see His mercy in action, His justice, His wrath, His judgment. You see His wisdom. You see truth being vindicated. You see prophecy being fulfilled. His Word is affirmed. You see righteousness declared. You see power declared. All of that is on the cross.” -Charles Haddon Spurgeon
